Migration is not a monthly statement import

When moving your historical budget from another app, start in Personal → Settings → Migrate from another app. Ordinary CSV/OFX/QIF bank statements should use the separate statement importer.

Choose the right guide

Use this safe order

  1. Make a Cashflow Backup everything ZIP and preserve the source export.
  2. Choose the source and confirm the source currency.
  3. Preview account mappings, transaction totals and warnings.
  4. Confirm the import only when the sample looks correct.
  5. Review imported transactions and reconcile account balances before trusting forecasts or reports.

Budget amounts need special care

Source systems have different rules for signed category assignments, rollover and card payments. Cashflow's optional Zero-Based Budgeting is still Beta and supports signed historical allocations only when the opening checkpoint and account mapping meet the required safeguards. Ordinary Flexible Targets are not a transparent copy of Actual's or YNAB's envelope calculations.
